I Have A Home!!

Mother and Son at Dewey Beach
October 2006

I am so excited to have a picture of Mother "Daisy" and son "Cosmo" on the beach.  These 2 together again in retirement has truly been a blessing on our house.  Just had to share our latest adventure with our friends.

Meg

Brawny Swedine.

Now part of the Jessica and Aaron Swedine family, soon to be joined by "Tanya", Brawny loves to roll in the leaves.

Can you find him?

"Papas" Fergus of Columbus relaxes in
a very "unladylike" fashion!

Kenya: Geul, relaxing after a hard day of resting.

Midas is my 10 year young dapper greyhound adopted seven years ago from your wonderful organization and he's still going strong.

Looks like he might be trying to impress a little lady to join the family? We'll see - need to make a bit more room first!

Random (AKA Andy) Tan (of the Mike and Jackie Tan family) looking out at a beautiful day through the sunroof of his car.  Life doesn't get any better than this!  (The car is parked - He doesn't ride like this when it's in motion)

Recently-adopted senior girl, Mimoni Krista (black), living the good life with her new brother, Connor, in the Campbell's back yard in Casstown, Ohio.

Hi Linda,

Simon and I are moving into Rob's house in a couple of weeks...Simon is very excited about the new big yard!

Laurie

(Check out the tongue!)

After spending many months at the GAO kennel (People passed him up because of his age), Travis went home with his new family, the Gillmores!  He joins his greyhound sister for a wonderful life in retirement!  We said Travis was the "perfect gentleman" and his family agrees!

Travis wants to thank his foster family, Paul, Patti and Ben Trettel, for taking care of him and helping get where he is today!
Thirteen-year-old "Baby" gets her first-ever home with Tara Morey's family!  When Tara heard that Baby had been used for breeding all her life and had never known the happiness of a home, she knew it was meant to be.  Now Baby romps and plays with her new family (no one has told her she's 13) and spends evenings cuddled up in her new home!  If you'd like to extend the warmth of your home to one of these "oh so deserving" older ladies, give us a call!
Ruben loves his life with his new parents, Jeff and Brigit Tubaugh!

Ruben (and his brother Preston) are blood donors at OSU.  He is also doing therapy dog work with Mount Carmel Hospice. He's great at everything!

Trip and Daisy Chrislip, the next two "Supermodels"!

I took this picture of Simon last night, and it makes me laugh everytime I look at it! Enjoy!

Laurie

"Dizzy" Garton demonstrates the greyhound patience as she lets IG, "Pinot", use her for a pillow!

"Caught Pinot laying on Dizzy. He's such a strange pooch but we love him!" -Carol

Linda,

Brad, Bertie and I have moved to Columbus and bought a new house.  Bertie loves it!  It has a fenced in yard where she gets some independence.

Enjoy the picture of Bertie on a hot day!
Rudy

Hi everyone!

For those of you who haven't met Rudy, I have attached a picture of him at our last therapy dog class. We dressed up in costumes and did our tricks that we learned.

Rudy won best costume and one of the other classmates named him "Rodeo Rudy". If this is how we fuss over our dogs, wait until we have kids!!

Love,
Tim and Darcy Scherer

Linda--

Just wanted to let you know how happy we are to have Elvis. We just wish we would have gotten him sooner!

We had a few growls at the beginning between Elvis and our other male, Harry. However, once Elvis realized that there's food for everyone here, all the time, they've both settled down.

ElvisOur female, Sally, still growls at everyone, but that's always been her way. She and Elvis have been going to my dad's office during the day, so they're quite the couple. Sally was recovering from her leg amputation, and Elvis just can't stand to let my dad out of his sight. Recently, we've had Elvis staying home with me when my dad runs errands--I'm just now good enough for the short term! We dealt with this with Harry (only I was the target of his affections), and managed to build up with gradually longer times apart.

We laugh about how Elvis was supposedly stand-offish until he got to know you, because he was very affectionate with all of us right from the start. He loves to cuddle--the other day, he literally SAT IN MY LAP! It was so sweet, I just had to let him. He sighs a lot, and I hope it's contentment. We think a great dog like Elvis deserves some contentment after what he's been
through.

I hate thinking about all the rejection Elvis faced for so long--I wish I would have surfed the web sooner. Thanks for rescuing him from the pound even though he wasn't all greyhound, and thanks for taking care of him for so long. We're awful glad he's part of our family.

The Rose Family - Anjie, Bernie and Jolene (people), Harry, Sally and Lida (dogs)
