This morning while I was working at the shelter with my camera because I wanted to send an update about what scooby can do for a dog, I was going to take pictures of the dogs from the well and show everybody in what wonderful state they are now and how happy they are, then I received a phone call ,somebody has seen some dead galgos. UPDATE ON THE DOGS FROM THE 1/6/05 INCIDENT WHERE THE DOGS WERE THROWN DOWN THE WELL
About the other five - they are recovering quite well including Eden who is able to walk with some difficulties but she is walking, I want to thank everybody who has sent letters because it has been very useful, we are making History right now once again we are the first ones that has gotten the proofs for having somebody indicted for mistreating galgos in Spain, the owner of the bitches has been officially accused for throwing the dogs in the well , obviously we need to wait until the judge will decide but this thing alone is a big victory, also I would like to comunicate that Scooby is going to be the private accusation in this case , we have a very good lawyer encharged of the case.

corporation dedicated solely to the welfare of greyhounds in the
United States and abroad. The American-European Greyhound Alliance,
Inc. accomplishes its mission through active and on-going monitoring
of existing and proposed racing venues; liaising with racing industry
and adoption groups; providing an effective source of collection
and dissemination of accurate information; education of the public
as to the suitability of the greyhound as an adopted companion
animal. AEGA, Inc. will maintain and rehabilitate several
greyhounds at a time in the United States and Europe. These
will be dogs with special needs, i.e. broken legs, medical problems,
etc. The goal is to get them ready for adoption.

Pablo and Pilar get a home!
They were two emaciated dogs, a sister and brother, from a small town in Spain, about an hour north of Madrid. At the end of the hunting season, in January of this year, they were turned in to the Scooby Greyhound Refuge, the largest in this country known for its brutal treatment of unwanted greyhound racing and hunting dogs.
